Job summary
We are looking to welcome a caring and committed Practice Nurse into our team to work full or part-time. The main responsibilities of the role include delivering high-quality, patient-centred nursing care, supporting the management of acute and long-term conditions, and contributing to preventative care and health promotion. The post holder will provide evidence-based care, undertake appropriate clinical procedures, and work collaboratively within the wider practice team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will have experience in general practice nursing, although further training and development will be supported for the right candidate. You will be confident in delivering a range of clinical nursing services, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patients across the practice. As a key member of the team, you will provide care to a diverse patient group across all sites, with opportunities to develop areas of clinical interest. About us
We are committed to ongoing training and development of all our staff and have an Investors in People accreditation. We have protected time for monthly nursing meetings as well as quarterly all practice meetings with the whole practice team.
We are an established training practice, supporting trainee GPs, medical students, pre-reg nurses and pharmacists All members of the team are involved in sharing their skills and knowledge with trainees. We are heavily involved in research with strong links to the NIHR and more recently have been selected to run two commercial vaccine trials. Research brings additional benefits and opportunities to our patients.
We are excited to be in the process of establishing our own PCN now that we have merged practices. This gives us the opportunity to work closely with ARRS roles to further enhance the care and provision for our patients. Patient engagement is important to us and we have an active PPG which meets regularly.
The team enjoys frequent get togethers both in work with protected daily coffee breaks at 10.30am as well as social events outside of work such as coach trips to Bournemouth Beach and fish and chips in the park to name but a few

Contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team. Participate in nursing and practice meetings as required. Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and governance activities. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using agreed systems and templates. Monitor and report stock or equipment issues in line with practice procedures. Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development. Skilled in asthma care Developed understanding of COPD Experience of hypertension Accomplished in wound management and implement wound care in line with current evidence-based guidelines and local policies. Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines. Offer advice and administer childhood and adult vaccinations under patient group directions according to national immunisation programmes. Offer health promotion and lifestyle advice on diet, alcohol intake and exercise. Offer a holistic approach in monitoring patients with chronic diseases according to NICE guidelines Perform cervical cytology smear tests Perform venepuncture Suture/staple removal. NHS Travel immunisation Perform ECGs Able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines. Ensure infection control and cold chain guidelines are maintained. Ability to monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment to include refrigeration cold chain management and emergency equipment. Ensures awareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults.
