Job summary We have an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding section and support the work of the Radiological Physics and Radiation Protection Service.
While candidates with experience are welcomed, the position would be ideal for a graduate or someone looking to start their career in Medical Physics.
Full training will be provided to support the right candidate to become a Registered Clinical Technologist.
Main duties of the job You will be responsible for performing quality assurance checks on Phototherapy equipment throughout the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and for our external customers.
Duties include routine Ultraviolet radiation quality assurance and investigations, as well as working both independently and alongside colleagues to perform acceptance tests, critical examinations and fault investigations.
Additional duties include analysing patient dose data to support optimisation of exposures, performance testing and arranging external calibration of test equipment, development of spreadsheets and test protocols and maintaining documentation relating to our Quality Management System. Frequent travel across Yorkshire is required and you should have your own means of transport.

What you will bring to the role Essential to the role: Degree in physics sciences or similar subject. Experience recording and interpreting data from practical tasks.
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Able to work efficiently to specified priorities. Able to work flexibly and to cope with large and unpredictable workload.
Desirable:
Registered clinical technologist (Radiation Physics scope)
Practical experience testing or operating Phototherapy equipment
Working in a hospital environment
Working with Quality Management Systems
