We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Health Care Assistant to join our nursing team to provide NHS health checks, LTC reviews including diabetes part 1 and hypertension, wound checks, B12 and influenzas vaccinations, urinalysis, SMI health checks and weight management referrals
Main duties of the job
Evidence of the ability to undertake clinical skills and training to a care certificate levelAll up to date training certificates.Previous experience in a health care setting carrying out LTC checks including hypertension and Diabetes reviews, providing wound care and daily dressings, phlebotomy, urinalysis, weight management referrals, NHS health checks.

The main responsibilities of the post:
The role of the Health Care Assistant is to work within their scope of practice, without direct supervision in partnership with a Registered Nurse. The HCA will provide and deliver a high standard of patient care.The HCA will safely undertake the procedures including; undertaking routine procedures including measuring and interpreting blood glucose levels, recording and interpreting vital signs, wound cares and various LTC checks and reviews.The HCA will be expected to carry out planned care to our patients.The successful applicant must be flexible, a good team worker, used to working under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and IT skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients and the team.

Qualifications Essential
GSCEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English Previous experience in a Primary Care health care setting Demonstrates a commitment to further learning and development
Desirable
Qualified with Care Certificate Qualified in Phlebotomy Up to date training in LTC reviews, NHS Healthchecks and wound care
