Part Time Medical Receptionist Annesley Woodhouse Surgery
Ashfield House Surgery is looking to recruit a part time receptionist approximately 5 hours per week (working Wednesday's) with the flexibility of being able to cover holiday and sickness leave.
Ashfield House is a friendly GP Practice in Annesley Woodhouse with just under a 6000 patient population. We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our current team. Excellent communication skills are paramount with a caring friendly manner.
Essitentail flexibility to cover holiday and sick leave will be needed.
This is a very demanding role which requires accuracy, an excellent telephone manner, computer & office skills, ability to multi task & work to deadlines all within a team environment
Main duties of the job
Opening up/locking up of the practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail Taking messages and passing on information Filing and retrieving paperwork on workflow Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning

Annesley Woodhouse is a rural village just north of Nottingham and is close to the M1, A38, Sheffield and the Peak District. Our practice population is just under 6000 and has a high level of chronic disease and elderly patients who can often require visits. The surgery is based in a converted house with 3 consulting rooms, treatment room & upstairs clinic room and a team of friendly reception / admin staff to help support Clinicians.

REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER
HOURS: Approx 5
The purpose of the role is to:
Offer Reception cover and general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
Duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
