Job summary Junior Surgical Fellow in Trauma & Related Services (T&O, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, MTC, Elective Orthopaedics)
We are inviting applications to fill our Junior Surgical Fellow vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Trauma & Related Services. This post will commence beginning of August and is fixed term for 24 months and the postholder will work for 6 months in each specialty.
Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.

Main duties of the job Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) has developed these high quality and exciting posts, which have been designed primarily for trainees who have successfully completed their FY2 placements (or equivalent) and wish to complete a Core Surgical Training equivalent within surgery.
We envisage these roles as being an ideal stepping stone for trainees between their FY2 and specialty training posts in Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery and Vascular Surgery. These posts offer a unique opportunity for applicants to develop their surgical skills, alongside experience in other areas, such as research and quality/service improvement. Our posts combine education and career development with practical, patient facing care.
The post holders will be based at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and Chapel Allerton Hospital (CAH)

Why you should join our Team
The Fellowship will commence in August 2026 and has a duration of 24 months and the postholder will work for 6 months in each specialty. Each postholder will be assigned an Educational Supervisor who will help to set out their goals for the duration of the Fellowship and make sure they are progressing over time. Also a Clinical Supervisor who will be responsible for their day to day clinical and surgical development.
