About this role

We are seeking a Formulations Scientist – Group Leader to join our Formulations team in Boston, MA. This role combines hands‑on analytical chemistry and formulation support for RNA–lipid nanoparticle (LNP) development with technical and people leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate enjoys working at the bench while also mentoring others, supporting operational excellence, and contributing to a positive, high‑performing team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technical Responsibilities

Perform and support experiments in accordance with established protocols, methods, and proceduresAnalyze RNA–lipid nanoparticles using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation, including:

HPLC, SoloVPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI‑AC, and viscosity measurementsSupport protein and buffer formulation activities as neededMaintain accurate, timely documentation using an electronic laboratory notebookFollow GLP, safety guidelines, and documentation best practicesAssist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environmentLeadership & Team Responsibilities

Support, monitor, and coach the performance of assigned team membersAssist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of new employeesParticipate in interviews and hiring activities as neededCommunicate administrative and operational updates to the teamPromote Eurofins’ vision, values, and quality standardsEnsure adequate coverage, productivity, and consistency across assigned shifts and dutiesBalance hands‑on laboratory work with leadership and administrative responsibilitiesFoster collaboration, morale, and accountability within the team Required Qualifications

Education & ExperienceB.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience, orM.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experienceExperience in formulation, analytical, or process development of genetic modalities (e.g., siRNA, mRNA, RNA‑LNP)Demonstrated proficiency in chromatography and separation techniques, including hands‑on HPLC experiencePrior leadership experience with the ability to train and mentor team membersStrong organizational, time‑management, communication, and teamwork skillsProven troubleshooting abilities and a continuous improvement mindsetAbility to design experiments, interpret data, follow SOPs, and maintain accurate recordsSelf‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and within a matrixed teamPreferred Qualifications

In vitro or cellular assay experienceExperience working with traditional biologics (e.g., peptides, monoclonal antibodies)Experience with direct people managementAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship What to Expect in the Hiring Process:
