The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Stafford Medical Group, part of the Pier Health Group.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established, forward-thinking practice serving our local community, with the support of a wider organisation that is dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality primary care.
You will provide safe, effective, and person-centred clinical care to our patients while contributing to the continuous improvement and development of the practice and the wider Pier Health Group.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job description Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
c. Effective management of long-term conditions
d. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
e. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
f. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
g. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
h. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
i. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
j. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
k. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
l. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance and training
m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
o. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
p. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
q. Support the Executive management team in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
r. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
s. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
Clinical Knowledge & Skills Essential
Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Strong IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner Competent in the use of Office and Outlook Effective time management (Planning & Organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Excellent interpersonal skills Problem solving & analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes Experience with clinical risk management
