About this role
Oversee the management of our company’s laptops, desktops, network devices, printers, telephony (mobile and desk phone), laboratory instruments and servers (in the Regional Google datacenter) to ensure optimal performance, reliability and securityDiagnose and resolve local IT issues raised by level 1 and level 2 service tickets (BMC Helix tool), including hardware, software and connectivity problems, promptly to minimize downtime and disruption to business operationsCollaboration with responsible person level 1 in Regional Service Desk and level 3 in Regional Operational IT team) and level 4 (vendors)Implement and enforce security protocols and manage account access, to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches and other security threatsCollaborate with IT teams (Regional, Group and Security) to plan, coordinate and execute upgrades, expansions and migration, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to project timelinesResponsible for our headquarter in Fehraltorf as well as entities in Neuenhof, Rorschach, and Rossens.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Proven experience (5x years) as an IT Manager or similar role, focusing on managing and supporting IT hardware and IT networksProficiency in configuring and maintaining IT equipment, including laptops, desktops and instrument PCs. Knowledge of routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls would be an advantageExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levelsWillingness to travel (up to 20 %)Very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
