About this role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Biochemist to join our Formulations team supporting RNA‑LNP development efforts. In this role, you will apply advanced biochemical and analytical techniques to characterize RNA‑lipid nanoparticles, support formulation development, and perform hands‑on laboratory work. In addition, you will take on leadership responsibilities, including team oversight, performance coaching, and fostering a positive, high‑functioning work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific & Technical Work
Perform biochemical and analytical testing on RNA‑LNP formulations using techniques such as:
HPLC, Solo‑VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI‑AC, viscosity measurementsSupport formulation preparation for RNA, proteins, and buffersApply GLP principles and maintain high‑quality documentation in an electronic lab notebookAssist with lab organization, equipment cleanliness, and workflow optimizationSupport experimental execution in alignment with established protocols, methods, and SOPsLeadership Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and oversight for a team of biochemistsParticipate in interviewing, onboarding, and training new team membersSupport scheduling, coverage planning, and shift performanceDeliver clear communication of priorities, expectations, and administrative updatesPromote Eurofins values and foster a collaborative, high‑morale team environmentContribute to continuous improvement initiatives in operations, workflow, and data qualityBalance hands‑on lab responsibilities with leadership and team development Required
B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 3–4 years laboratory experience
OR
M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1–2 years experienceExperience with RNA, mRNA, siRNA, or RNA‑LNP formulationsProficiency with chromatography and related separation techniquesHands‑on experience with HPLCDemonstrated leadership ability—training, mentoring, or leading a teamStrong troubleshooting skills and a continuous‑improvement mindsetAbility to design experiments, interpret data, and maintain accurate recordsExcellent organization, communication, and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently and within a cross‑functional teamPreferred
Experience with cellular or in vitro assaysExperience working with biologics such as peptides or monoclonal antibodiesDirect management experienceAuthorization to work in the U.S. without restriction What to Expect in the Hiring Process:
