About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled, passionate, and motivated scientist to join our Formulations team. In this role, you will perform analytical chemistry techniques to support RNA-LNP formulations. This role also includes team leadership responsibilities including performance management, coaching and developing team members, fostering morale, and supporting operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Support research scientists with their experiments based on the company protocol, method, and procedures.Examine and perform analysis on RNA-lipid nanoparticles using analytical chemistry techniques and various instruments, such as: HPLC, Solo-VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI-AC, ViscositySupport scientists with the formulation of proteins and buffers as and when needed.Follow GLP and good documentation using an electronic lab notebook.Help with organizing and cleaning the lab and work environment.Follow documentation and safety practicesLeadership Responsibilities:
Supports and monitors the performance of the team of employeesMay participate in new hire interviewsSupports the on-boarding process of new employeesDisseminate administrative communicationsDemonstrate and promote the company's visionEnsure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operationsEnsure coverage and performance for all shifts, and work dutiesPerforms administrative tasks for team member growth and developmentAdeptly balance technical lab work with leadership responsibilitiesFoster morale and teamwork Required Qualifications
B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3-4 years of relevant laboratory experience. M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.Expertise in the formulation, analytical, or process development of genetic modalities (e.g. siRNA, mRNA, RNA-LNP).Demonstrated proficiency in chromatography / separation techniques.Hands-on experience with HPLC.Professional leadership experience and the ability to train other team members.Strong organizational, time management, communication, and teamwork skills.Strong troubleshooting and continuous improvement mindset.Ability to design experiments, interpret data, keep accurate records, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.Ability to work independently and as part of a matrixed team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.Preferred Qualifications
In vitro / cellular assay experience.Experience with other traditional biologics (e.g., peptides, monoclonal antibodies)Experience with the direct management of employees.Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
