Job summary
Lea Wharf Medical is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our newly formed Clinical Governance Team. This role will support medicines management, clinical governance activities, and audit processes across the practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening medication safety, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of pharmacy-related roles within the team.

Clinical Governance & Medicines Management
Support the delivery of medicines management initiatives within the practice. Conduct medicines-related audits and support quality improvement activities. Assist with reviewing prescribing data and identifying areas for improvement. Support medication safety processes and ensure compliance with relevant guidance and policies.Audit & Quality Improvement
Plan, undertake, and report on medicines management and clinical governance audits. Assist in monitoring and improving prescribing practices in line with national and local guidance. Support the development and implementation of clinical governance processes.

Support the integration of pre-registration pharmacists within the team. Provide guidance and support to the pharmacy technician apprentice role. Contribute to a collaborative learning environment within the pharmacy and governance team.Administrative & Governance Support
Maintain accurate records relating to medicines management activities and audits. Assist with preparation of reports for clinical governance meetings where required. Support the wider Clinical Governance Team with quality and safety initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Person SpecificationEssential Qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC. Experience in medicines management and audit processes. Knowledge of clinical governance principles in primary care or healthcare settings. Strong organisational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
Desirable Experience working in primary care or general practice. Experience supporting training or supervision of junior pharmacy staff. Familiarity with prescribing data systems and audit tools.
