About this role
The Business Development Director is a senior growth leader within the newly formed Experian Automotive Business Development & Strategic Partnerships group, a team chartered to expand Experian's ecosystem of OEM and industry partnerships, enhance data commercialization, and drive new growth across the global automotive sector. You will report to the VP of Product Management.
This role is tailored for an accomplished commercial strategist with deep experience developing partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and adjacent ecosystem partners. The ideal candidate combines a robust understanding of the automotive industry's digital transformation with an extensive executive-level rolodex inside OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, and the executive presence to engage credibly with C-suite decision-makers.
Main Responsibilities:
OEM Partnership Development
Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic relationships with automotive OEMs, captive finance arms, and Tier-1 partners to expand Experian's participation in connected-vehicle data, digital retailing, and mobility initiatives.
Strategic Growth & Market Expansion
Develop strategies that unlock new OEM-centric revenue streams through data licensing, analytics partnerships, marketing solutions, and risk decisioning products.
Executive Relationship Management
Leverage and grow a network of OEM executives across marketing, sales, connected services, and digital innovation functions. Be a trusted advisor to help them use Experian's capabilities to achieve strategic goals.
Partnership Strategy
Source, structure, and negotiate complex partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that integrate Experian's data and technology into OEM programs and platforms.
Sales Partnership & Enablement
Collaborate with Experian's OEM sales and client management teams to operationalize partnership strategies—ensuring alignment between strategic intent and commercial execution.
Collaboration
Work with our teams (product, data, analytics, and technology) to co-create OEM-specific solutions that drive measurable client value.
Go-to-Market Development
Partner with marketing and product leadership to create compelling narratives and materials for OEM audiences, highlighting Experian's unique data, identity, and decisioning capabilities.
Financial & Market Analysis
Build business cases and ROI models that evaluate OEM partnership potential, measure the impact, and guide investment decisions.
Industry Leadership & Representation
Represent Experian Automotive at major OEM forums, industry conferences, and executive roundtables, strengthening Experian's leadership in data-driven automotive innovation.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).10+ years of experience in OEM-focused business development, corporate strategy, or strategic partnerships within automotive, mobility, or connected-vehicle ecosystems.Record of establishing and expanding partnerships with automakers and captive finance entities.Executive network within the automotive OEM community and related industry partners.Functional Expertise
Experience with OEM operations, connected-car data, digital retailing, and vehicle lifecycle value creation.Experience collaborating with sales organizations to partnership strategies.Advanced financial modeling and business-case development skills.Ability to travel up to 25% for OEM and industry partner engagements.Automotive ecosystem business development experience, including direct engagement with OEM, Tier-1, and mobility partners.Background in data, credit, or analytics-driven solutions for automotive manufacturers.Expertise using executive networks to guide enterprise-level OEM agreements.Familiarity with latest technologies such as AI/ML, connected-vehicle data platforms, EV ecosystems, and mobility-as-a-service models. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education.
